Backstory: Her mother had been a Japanese immigrant living in America, who raised her as a single parent. For a few short years, they lived together peacefully; until one day, Olive’s mother was killed suddenly in a traffic collision. Olive was greatly jarred by this loss, and by the change it created in her life. Her only living relative was a great-uncle that she had never met, but nevertheless she was sent by social services to live with him overseas.
As it turned out, her great-uncle was a serious and strict man, but he worked at a traveling circus. Under his rules she was forced to get a job there as well, but she soon came to fall in love with the place. She traveled with them to many places for many years, always working at the ticket booths and watching the shows on her days off.
However, her life changed again when one night, while she was watching one of the performances, an accident caused a large fire to start up in the tent. She managed to quickly escape outside, but most of the audience and circus members had been trapped within. It was then that she met a strange animal who promised to grant her any wish—so she hastily wished that those still trapped in the tent would be able to escape.
And her wish came true, with the rest of the people inside miraculously finding a way out. Unfortunately, damage had already been done; her great-uncle, and a few other circus members, had died in the initial blast of the fire and the tent had been ruined. The circus had to close down, and Olive then left to begin her new life hunting witches.

• “Olive” was the nickname her mother and old friends used to call her. She still prefers to be called that than by her real first or last name, but doesn’t really mind if people call her by other things.
• She later formed a group with two other Puellas, and worked together with them
